Diego is a city which is located at the northern end of Madagascar. Chief town of the province, it is known thanks to the presence of the second largest bay in the world after Rio de Janeiro.

Antananarivo or Tananarive (in Malagasy: the "village of thousands", at the origin of the Merina kingdom, it was mainly a village and not a city, "Tananarive" being the translation in French during the colonial period) is the political capital of Madagascar, of the province of Antananarivo and of the Analamanga region, located in the central part of the island. Its inhabitants are called Antananarivans.
After the various controls at the airport of Ivato Antananarivo, our guide is waiting for you to accompany you to the hotel.
Overnight stay at the hotel

Early in the morning, transfer to the airport to go to Diego. The duration of the flight is about 2 hours. Once arrived on the spot, transfer to the hotel.

In the morning, visit of the Red Tsingy. At 50 km south of Diego Suarez, there is a unique group of Tsingy, because they are red. Resulting from the erosion, the mixture of different oxides and the time which passed gave birth to these so singular fireplaces. Picnic lunch on the spot; in the afternoon, you will continue towards the park of Ankarana.

The morning is dedicated to the visit of the Ankarana Park: the Ankarana National Park is a real jewel of nature, famous for its network of underground rivers: the largest in Africa. With a unique ecosystem, this protected area promises adventure and discovery! The park of Ankarana is dominated by a rugged relief built on a basaltic soil. Some areas of the park are covered with seasonal dry forests. The park is also home to Tsingy, a limestone formation that has inherited a particular shape, thanks to erosion. They are composed of narrow corridors in the form of a labyrinth.
Lunch at the restaurant, on the outskirts of the park and in the afternoon, return to Diego.

Full day in a small islet surrounded by the Emerald Sea north of Diego; about an hour away by sailboat. Seafood grilling, snorkeling...

Transfer to the airport to go to Antananarivo. Once arrived on the spot and if the time allows it, you make a small tour of the city to the Queen's palace.

Departure from Antananarivo, after breakfast, we pass through the heart of the capital to join the famous RN7. We observe directly the people of the highlands, cosmopolitan dominated by the Merina. They get up early in the morning to go to the markets, to the fields and to the offices for those who are bureaucrats. A mountainous city located at 1240 to 1440 m of altitude, very animated. On the way out of town, we observe brick makers kneading clay to make bricks, tiles and for other uses.
At 30 km from the city of Tananarive, on the RN7, we stop to visit a small workshop of Raphia objects.
Ᾱ 70 km from the capital, we enter the city of Ambatolampy, city which is located at the foot of the third highest peak of Madagascar. This city has its specificity for the manufacture of aluminum objects. Thanks to the existence of local raw materials, the young people of Ambatolampy can build various materials out of aluminum.
We continue towards Antsirabe, admiring the beautiful landscapes of the high plateaus: terraced cultures of rice, corn, various vegetables, barley... .

After lunch, we proceed to the visit of the first hotel of Madagascar, "Hôtel des thermes" which was built in 1897 and which still functions until now. Not far from the avenue of independence is Joseph's, which is also very famous for its workshop of semi-precious stones. And then we continue to visit the workshop of zebu horns and the workshop of miniature objects, at Mamy's, which is located side by side. To finish your day, rickshaw tours in the city center.

Departure towards the south to explore new landscapes.
Just 20 km from the city, we meet young cyclists transporting charcoal for sale from their countryside to the city of Antsirabe. Arriving at the village of Mandoto, if time permits, we will visit the local village, the basis of their daily life.
Arrival in Ambositra around 11 am. Ambositra is the capital of the Zafimaniry tribe, one of the tribes appreciated for their ability to carve wood. Stop for the visit of the stationery workshop: demonstration and visit of the finished products. It is the only place where you can buy wooden objects.
Lunch in Ambositra, then we continue to Ranomafana.

Departure in the morning for the visit of the park of Ranomafana. The national park of Ranomafana is a Malagasy park located in the province of Fianarantsoa. It was created in 1991. It was included in 2007 in the World Heritage Site of the rainforests of Atsinanana.
The park covers a little more than 41 600 ha of tropical rainforest. We meet several rare animal and plant species such as lemurs and Fanaloka, giraffe insects... .
After the park, we take our famous road RN7, lunch stop in Fianarantsoa.
In the afternoon, visit of the upper town in Fianarantsoa, a city founded in 1831 by Queen Ranavalona I to make it the capital of the southern part of the island. The hill of Kianjasoa was the first site chosen, but the new city, named Fianarantsoa, was finally built on the neighboring hill, Ivoneana, which is much more protected. The first governor of Fianarantsoa was Rafaralahindraininaly who ruled from 1831 to 1842.
We continue towards the southwest, towards the end of the afternoon, we arrive at Ambalavao.

Departure from the hotel in the morning to visit the workshop of the wild silk at " Soa landy ". It is a small workshop that processes the cocoons of wild silkworms that live symbiotically on the leaves of Tapia. Then visit the Antemoro paper workshop at Bougainvilliers.
After the various visits in downtown Ambalavao, we continue the road to the Anja Park. It is a small park managed by the COBA (Community of Base) thanks to the existence of a species of lemur which lives there, it is a Maki catta. It is a good place to see lemurs, chameleons and sometimes snakes.
After lunch, we will dive entirely in the southern part of Madagascar. The landscapes change, the vegetations are rare, the Zebu are numerous, because we arrive in the territory where people do not plant much rice, but are rather breeders of zebus.
At the end of the afternoon, we arrive at the village of RANOHIRA, ecotouristic village located at the entry of the National Park of the isalo.

We have a full day to explore the beauty of the Isalo Park. The Isalo National Park is a protected area of Madagascar, declared a national park in 1999.
It is a mountainous massif of Jurassic sandstone, stretching for nearly a hundred kilometers, in the north-south direction, and cut by deep canyons and bristling with peaks.
The Isalo National Park has an area of 81 540 ha, extending for nearly one hundred kilometers in a north-south direction. The erosion of the rock has carved a ruinous relief, varying from 820 to 1240 m of altitude, with deep canyons, rivers and abundant rocky vegetation. The park is also the domain of makis and other lemurs.
During your stay in Isalo, the morning is dedicated to hiking to the natural pool. It is the moment to know the rites of the Bara tribe at the time of the burial and to see also their provisional and final tombs and the afternoon, hike in the canyon, until the blue and black swimming pool. Possibility to see the sifaka or dancing lemur and maki catta.
At the end of the afternoon, sunset at the window of Isalo.

Leaving the chaotic and canonical landscape of the Isalo, new discoveries are offered to us along the way.
A village of sapphire, animated in the morning by the sale of precious stones and possibility of visit, accompanied by the owner of the career. We can see all types of stones existing in the region, presented by the "GEMS" said transparent stone, where the majority of buyers are Filipinos.
Only a few kilometers away, in the middle of the arid landscape, is a National Park called Zombitse Vohibasia. A park made up of dry forest; it is an exceptional site of avifauna and xerophilous flora.
Seen from afar, the mother of the forest or baobabs decorate the landscape with its large and long trunks from which the leaves are rare and gives it the air of a tree in reverse.
At the end of the morning, lunch in the city of Toliara, passing by the Mahafaly plateaus with its spectacular tombs, colorful, interpreting the life of the deceased. It is the city known as "Tsy miroro", the sunny city from where we meet Vezo people.
The afternoon is reserved to join the beautiful beach of Mangily, protected by the big coral barrier, and it is finally the occasion to taste the seafood after having made the long circuit of the highlands.

After breakfast, visit the local reserve Renala, where you can find typical medicinal plants of the region and fauna and flora of the thorny forest. The emblem of this small reserve is the presence of a species of baobab Adansonia rubrostipa, with several different forms.
In the afternoon, we will visit the fishermen's villages and meet the local craftsmen. We will have the opportunity to make a ride in a cart, pulled by zebus.

During the free day, there are several activities to complete the day: massage by the sea, snorkeling, boat ride, etc.

Return to Antananarivo by domestic flight. Hold luggage 20 kg, hand luggage 5 kg.
Arrival in Antananarivo, Day use at the hotel and after dinner, transfer to the airport.
