 Day 1: Ambalamanasy Toamasina Airport

After various checks at the airport, your guide is waiting impatiently outside to meet you. Immediately transfer to the hotel, and if the weather permits, it depends on your arrival, you can take a city tour.

Day 2: Toamasina – Ankanin’ny nofy (dream nest).

Departure from Toamasina to explore the famous Pangalane Canal, located along the east Malagasy coast, from Foulpoint in the north, to Farafangana in the south-east of Madagascar. Due to human activities, currently only 45O km are navigable. This channel plays a major role in the Malagasy economy. During your trip on this canal, you will see beautiful landscapes, flora and fauna, and especially the skills of the local people: example: mailboxes. Picnic lunch during the trip.

At the end of the afternoon, arrived at the shore of Lake Ampitabe.

Day 3: Ankanin’ny nofy

Departure from the hotel for the visit of the reserve: possibility to see, nearby, dozens of species of lemurs, iguanas, carnivorous plants, different species of plants endemic to Madagascar.

In the afternoon, visit the fishing village, and at the end of the day, visit the Aye Aye reserve. It is one of the largest nocturnal lemurs in Madagascar.

Day 4: Ankanin’ny nofy – Andasibe

Departure from Ankanin’ny Nofy at 7:30 am passing over two lakes: Rasoamasay and Rasoabe, and taking the national route number 2 (RN2), a route that circulates the most throughout the island since it connects Tamatave , the economic capital in Antananarivo, the administrative capital, admiring splendid mountain lines. Lunch at Andasibe.

In the afternoon, visit the vakoana reserve: vakoana is a private reserve located around the Andasibe park. This reserve is a place where lemurs can be easily seen, and there is also a lake that houses crocodiles.

Day 5: Andasibe- Antananarivo

Departure at 8:00 am from the hotel for the visit of the Analamazaotra National Park: possibility of seeing the indri indri the largest lemur of Madagascar. Lunch at Andasibe. In the afternoon, leaving the east coast, we take the RN2 to go to the highlands through the Peyreras reserve, it is a reserve that we can find more chameleon.

Day 6: Antananarivo – Antsirabe

Leaving the East Coast completely, the circuit continues on the highlands. Various panoramic landscapes stretch over the famous national road number 7. Stop for the visit of the pot workshop in Ambatolampy. It is a typical workshop allowing to know the skill and the know-how Malagasy. We continue towards the south, after the visit, where a panoramic view of different landscapes is offered to us: rice plantation on the terrace, field of corn, vegetables….

Lunch in Antsirabe, city of water, city of thermal water. After lunch, visit various workshops in Antsirabe which will end with a short tour of growth.

Day 7: Antsirabe-Ranomafana

After visiting the city of Antsirabe, you continue to explore new landscapes: landscapes of different plantations in the village of Manandona, Panoramic view of the Fatihita river. Arrival in the town of Ambositra, a typical town for wooden sculpture: visit the stationery workshop to learn about the skills of the local people.

Lunch at Ambositra; in the afternoon, you continue to explore new landscapes. After a hundred and thirty kilometers, you fork towards the East coast, the green landscape awaits you.

Day 8: Ranomafana

The morning is dedicated to the discovery of Ranomafana Park. It is a very famous and very visited park thanks to its species that are not found anywhere else: plant species such as tree ferns, bamboo …; animal species: bamboo lemur, sifaka lemur, etc .; hiking last at least 2H30.

Lunch at the restaurant, very close to the village, in the afternoon visit to the Tanala village, it is a typical village which represents the life of the Tanala. End of the afternoon, return to the hotel.

Day 9: Ranomafana-Sahambavy

Departure from Ranomafana to reach the village Sahambavy. Once there, you will visit the tea plantation. The Sahambavy tea plantation is the only one in Madagascar, so it has no competitor yet. For the years to come, growers will work both for the development of green tea, known for its health benefits and currently in high demand in Western markets, and for an organic tea project.

Day 10: Sahambavy – Ranohira

Departure from the hotel to join the RN7 road, arrival in Ambalavao after 2 hours of driving at the moramora rhythm, visit of the silk workshop: It is a small workshop which treats the cocoons of wild silkworms which live symbiotically on Tapia leaves. then visit Antemoro paper workshop at Bougainvilliers.

After the various visits to downtown Ambalavao, we continue the road to Anja Park. It is a small park managed by the COBA (Community of Base), thanks to the existence of a species of lemur which lives there, it is a Maki catta. It’s a great place to see lemurs, chameleons and sometimes snakes.

After lunch, we will dive entirely in the southern part of Madagascar. The landscape changes, vegetation is scarce, the Zebus are numerous, because we arrive in the territory where people do not plant a lot of rice, but are rather breeder of zebus.

At the end of the afternoon, we arrive at the village of RANOHIRA, an ecotourism village located at the entrance to the Isalo National Park.

Day 11: Isalo Park

We have the whole day to explore the beauty of Isalo Park. The Isalo National Park is a protected area of ​​Madagascar, declared a national park in 1999.

It is a mountain range of Jurassic sandstone, stretching for almost a hundred kilometers, in a north-south direction, and cut by deep canyons and bristling with peaks.

Isalo National Park covers an area of ​​81,540 ha, stretching nearly one hundred kilometers in a north-south direction. The erosion of the rock has carved a ruiniform relief, varying from 820 to 1240m above sea level, with deep canyons, rivers, and abundant rocky vegetation. The park is also the domain of lemurs and other lemurs.

During your stay in Isalo, the morning is dedicated to hiking, to the natural swimming pool.

 This is the perfect time to learn about the rites of the Bara tribe, during the burial, and also to see their provisional and final tombs. In the afternoon, hike in the canyon, to the blue and black swimming pool. Possibility to see the sifaka or the lemur dancer and the maki catta.

Day 12: Isalo Park – Mangily (Ifaty)

By abandoning the chaotic and canonical landscape of Isalo, new discoveries await us along the way.

A sapphire village animated in the morning by the sale of precious stones and possibility of visit, accompanied by the owner of the quarry. We can see all the types of stones existing in the region, presented by the “GEMS” called transparent stone, from where the majority of buyers are Filipinos.

Only a few km away, in the middle of the arid landscape, there is a National Park called Zombitse Vohibasia. A park made up of dry forest. It is an exceptional site for avifauna and xerophilic flora.

Seen from afar, the mother of the forest where baobabs decorate the landscape, with these large and long trunks, from which the leaves are rare and it gives her the air of the tree upside down.

At the end of the morning, Lunch in the city of Toliara, passing through the Mahafaly plateaus with their spectacular, colorful tombs, interpreting the life of the deceased. It’s the city called “Tsy miroro”, the sunny city where we meet Vezo.

The afternoon is reserved for exploring the beautiful Mangily beach, protected by the great coral reef, and it is finally the opportunity to taste seafood, after having made the long circuit of the highlands.

Day 13: Mangily – Beach

After breakfast, visit the local Renala reserve where you will find medicinal plants typical of the region, and the fauna and flora of the thorny forest. The emblem of this small reserve is the presence of a species of baobab Adansonia rubrostipa of several different forms.

In the afternoon, visit fishing villages and meet local crafts. We will have the opportunity to take a cart ride, pulled by zebus.

Day14: Mangily – Tananarivo

Return to Antananarivo by domestic flight. Checked baggage 20 kg, hand baggage 5 kg.

Arrival in Antananarivo, transfer to the hotel or visit of the upper town, it depends on the arrival in Antananarivo.

Day 15: Palace of King Ambohimanga

After breakfast, departure for the visit of King Andrianampoinimerina’s palace in Ambohimanga or blue hill. This hill is classified as World Heritage by UNESCO. It is made up of a royal city, a royal funerary site and a set of sacred places.

In the afternoon, discover the dike market. It is a craft market where you can buy small souvenirs from Madagascar, before returning.
